Today, I want to dive into how I use ChatGPT in my YouTube marketing workflows. I’ll be showing you my chat prompts that I use for my core content creation for YouTube. Of course, there are many other ways to use ChatGPT within your marketing workflows, from social media posts to emails to planning out your full month of content. But in this video, we’re focusing on just the chatGPT prompts I used to publish YouTube videos, promote those videos, and repurpose my videos for blog posts.
In general, I don’t use ChatGPT to outline or write my YouTube scripts. But you 100% can if that’s your process. Though, I love using chat to help me brainstorm and get topic ideas. I will be showing you how I use it to brainstorm and get topic ideas, but that’ll be at the end of the video.
We’re going to start with a video I’ve already edited and transcribed using this script. If you aren’t familiar with this script, it’s an amazing video editing software that makes your video editing life so much easier. So let’s pop over to the screen view and dive into my YouTube chatGPT workflows.
First, we open ChatGPT and paste in our transcript. I’ve already downloaded my transcript from Diskscript, which is what I use to edit and transcribe my videos. This is a transcript from a video I made last month, and I don’t do any special editing or formatting to it. I have my basic prompt that I use with my scripts here in a Google doc, and for this template, I just duplicate it every time I have a new YouTube idea. I’m going to create the outline up here or any notes I took that I used to create the actual video.
Now, let’s move on to the next step. We have the transcript in here, and I’m going to cut and paste my prompt. So, for the above YouTube video transcript, please produce 10 titles, making them catchy but informative. You can change this to whatever kind of tone and output that you want. List out 10 YouTube tags in tag, comma, tag, comma, tag, comma format. Create a YouTube video description.
Okay, so it gave me my titles, my YouTube tags, and the YouTube description. For the tags, I usually review it and make any switches I want. I always do it even though it says it’s not a huge factor. Then, the YouTube description. I almost never take exactly what it gives me. I’ll cut and paste that in, and then I usually just edit it from the Google Docs. Then, I paste it into when I publish the YouTube video.
Now, let’s move on to promoting the YouTube video on other social media channels. While it did give me titles up here, I almost always ask it for more titles because a lot of times what I’ll do is I’ll take several titles and put them together to make one title. So, I ask it to write me 10 informal and descriptive titles for the above YouTube transcript. These are a little shorter, and I use them quite often for my naming purposes.
Next, I ask it to write me two Instagram captions promoting the above YouTube video. I ask for one informative and snappy caption, and the other one catchy. You can insert any social media that you happen to use. Whatever social media platform you’re using, you can ask it to create those kinds of prompts for you.
Lastly, I ask it to write me two Pinterest pin descriptions. One educational and one highlighting the benefits of the video. Again, you can ask for different tones and styles that you personally like for your brand.
Now, let’s move on to how I use ChatGPT to brainstorm and get creative ideas. For instance, if you knew you wanted to do some follow-up videos based on this particular video, you can say, ‘Provide me 10 related YouTube video ideas based on the provided transcript.’ This gives you an idea about how you can use ChatGPT to brainstorm. You can find other examples within some of my existing YouTube videos about how to use ChatGPT to brainstorm and get creative in your business.
Finally, let me show you how I ask Chat to help me turn a transcript into a blog post. We’re going to start a new chat for that. Once again, we’re cutting and pasting in our whole transcript. Based on the above transcript, please provide me a blog post with three main header sections with no more than one subheading per header section. Then, I ask it to provide me a catchy intro and a catchy introductory paragraph.
I can take this and edit it to make sure it sounds like me, but it is based on my content. This helps me more easily turn my YouTube videos into written blog posts. I hope this video helped inspire you a little bit about how you can use Chat with your current content workflows and how it really helps you save time when it comes to getting the most out of that core content that you are creating.
