Using ChatGPT for Practical Experience with Jira Dashboards

Welcome, guys! We are going to go back to using the ChatGPT in order to gain practical experience with your Jira. Today’s topic is going to be about dashboards, and we are back to our AI image recognition project. If you go back and navigate to the ChatGPT, here’s the prompt: Would you like to add some of the dashboards to your project to have some overviews? And the answer is yes. Please be specific on what needs to be present on the dashboard if it is missing. So, let’s get started! The first dashboard we are going to create is the project overview dashboard. To create a dashboard, navigate to the dashboards in your Jira instance and click on ‘View all dashboards’. In the ‘Create Dashboard’ section, enter the name of the dashboard as ‘Project Overview’. When creating a dashboard, you will have two options: Universe and Editors. For this specific project, we only want our stakeholders to be able to look into our project. So, we want them to have a dashboard and the ability to edit the issue and edit the dashboards. To

achieve this, select the stakeholder as the user who can edit the dashboard. You can also choose the Jira admin to do this kind of work. Once you have selected the user, click on 'Save'. Now, let's add some gadgets to the dashboard. Gadgets are the components that display information on the dashboard. The first gadget we want to add is the 'Assigned Issues' gadget. This gadget displays a breakdown of issues by assignee, showing the distribution of tasks across the team members. Next, we want to add a pie chart indicating the distribution of issues across different statuses, such as 'To Do', 'In Progress', and 'Done'. To add this gadget, go to the 'Charts' section and select the 'Pie Chart' gadget. Move the pie chart to the desired position on the dashboard and customize the color if needed. Now, let's add a filter for the assigned issues gadget. We want to filter the assigned issues by the project 'AI Web Board 2'. This will show only the assigned issues related to this project. Another gadget we want to add is the 'Upcoming Deadlines' gadget. This gadget lists the issues with approaching due dates, highlighting tasks that need attention in the near future. To add this gadget, go to the 'Filter Results' section and select the filter for 'Due in Last 2 Days'. This will show the issues with due dates within the next two days. Lastly, we want to add a gadget for the recently completed AI processing and analysis tasks. To add this gadget, go to the 'Issue Statistics' section and select the filter for 'AI Processing' and 'AI Analysis' issue types. Once you have added all the desired gadgets, click on 'Done' to save the dashboard. You can now view the project overview dashboard with all the added gadgets and filters. Remember, you can customize the gadgets and filters based on your project requirements. Play around with different options and configurations to create a dashboard that suits your needs. That's it for today! We have covered how to create a project overview dashboard in Jira using ChatGPT. Stay tuned for more exciting topics in our AI image recognition project. Bye bye!
