Using ChatGPT for Effective Communication

Using ChatGPT for Effective Communication

Hey there! Welcome to part two of our ChatGPT for Friends series. If you’re brand new here and haven’t seen part one, I recommend checking it out first as it’ll give you the basics of ChatGPT. You can find a link to the video in the description below.

Before we get to the good stuff, I’d like to say that although ChatGPT is a valuable resource, my intention is not to endorse its use as a substitute for genuine study and learning.

Now, let’s dive into the topic. In part one, we used a simple prompt to interact with ChatGPT. Today, we’ll begin with another easy prompt and build on it. Later in the video, we’ll analyze the components of the prompts so that you will understand how to compose your very own effective prompts.

When answering a question based on a paragraph, it’s usually a straightforward process. However, sometimes we may find ourselves rereading the paragraph multiple times to locate the answer. In such cases, you can ask ChatGPT for help. It can analyze the paragraph and provide you with the answer.

To use ChatGPT effectively, it’s important to provide clear instructions. You can ask it to tweak its answers, use specific vocabulary, or limit the response time. By giving ChatGPT a role, such as a student or a teacher, you can guide its responses to match your desired tone.

When formulating prompts, remember to reward the answers to be conversational, engaging, and dignified. Avoid using slang and consider the reading level of your audience. Keep the answers short, so they can be stated in a specific time frame.

In the video, we demonstrated how to use ChatGPT to summarize a text, tweak the answer, and limit the response length. By interacting with ChatGPT and providing feedback, you can refine the answers to your liking.

Remember, ChatGPT is a powerful tool, but it’s important to use it responsibly and not rely on it as a substitute for genuine study and learning.

In the next part of our series, we’ll explore using ChatGPT to develop a 10-minute part for the midweek meeting. Stay tuned!

That’s all for now. See you next time!
