Using Chart GPT to Write SQL Queries

Using Chart GPT to Write SQL Queries

Hey everyone! In this video, we will learn how to use Chart GPT to write SQL queries and perform data analysis. Chart GPT is a powerful tool that can help us generate SQL queries based on simple English instructions.

To get started, we need to provide Chart GPT with the necessary information about our database. We specify the database name and schema name, as well as the tables we want to work with. For example, we can use the Adventure Works DW 2017 database and the fact internet sales and dim date tables.

Next, we can instruct Chart GPT to join the tables based on specific criteria. In this case, we want to join the order date key in the fact internet sales table with the date key in the dim date table.

Once the tables are joined, we can further refine our query. For example, we can instruct Chart GPT to calculate the sum of the sales amount based on the English month name and calendar year in the dim date table.

If we want to sort the data, we can provide instructions to Chart GPT. For instance, we can ask it to sort the data based on the month names in alphabetical order.

Finally, we can add a filter to our query. We can instruct Chart GPT to filter out the sales amount that is greater than a million.

Chart GPT will generate the SQL query based on our instructions, and we can execute the query to retrieve the desired data.

Using Chart GPT to write SQL queries can save us time and effort, especially when dealing with complex queries. It allows us to easily refine our queries and get the desired output.

I hope you find this video useful. Give Chart GPT a try and let me know your thoughts. Cheers!
