Using AI to Supercharge Brainstorming

Using AI to Supercharge Brainstorming

So I have a problem because I need to come up with an episode for tomorrow and I do not have any ideas yet. I mean, I do not have an outline or a script or anything. However, I have this general idea about how I have been using Chacha PT to supercharge the brainstorming process when coming up with ideas and outlines. Chacha BT can be a powerful tool when you are trying to brainstorm and come up with ideas. I am not talking about having it generate ideas for you because, to be honest, that is not what I am looking for. I want to know that the opinions and ideas and thoughts are based on my own ideas and beliefs and not just some generated randomness from the large language model data training set. The technique I am going to show you is one that I have been using for a while, and I am going to use it in this episode to walk you through how it works. You can use it for generating ideas for creative writing or thinking through a personal challenge you have. This brainstorming technique is really powerful.

Here is what I do: I take a walk outside, where I can do my best thinking. I find that walking and getting exercise helps me think through ideas and problems and come up with solutions. I take out my phone and open up a voice memo app, like Google Recorder, which transcribes my voice memos on the device. I start recording and then start thinking up ideas around the topic. It does not matter if the ideas are not organized or structured; the goal is to get as many ideas out as possible. After recording for about 10 or 15 minutes, I have a bunch of thoughts on the topic. I can then take the transcript and let AI clean it up.

I open up a chatGPT window and ask it to help me organize the thoughts I recorded. I ask for a detailed outline that can be used for a YouTube video. ChatGPT generates a well-structured outline based on the ideas and thoughts I talked about during my walk. The original transcript may be scattered and out of order, but the structured and organized version is perfect for recording the episode. It starts with an introduction, goes into the details step by step, and ends with a great conclusion summarizing the episode.

I then ask ChatGPT to let me know if there are any details I left out or anything it thinks I should include. Based on the feedback, ChatGPT can generate some new content and ideas that are related to the topic. This feedback is based on the ideas and thoughts I already put into the topic, so it is not completely unrelated. Once I have the notes, I can ask ChatGPT to incorporate the feedback into the original detailed outline. This gives me a structured outline with additional details that I can manually tweak and edit as needed. It saves a lot of time and gives me something usable out of the box.

Depending on what you are working on, you can take loose, unstructured ideas and turn them into a structured outline or even a finished script or piece of text. This technique cuts out hours of extra time going through thoughts and notes. Let me know if this is something you would use in your day-to-day workflow.
