Using AI and Generative AI Tools to Enhance Local Government Objectives

Welcome back to another video as we explore how to use AI and generative AI tools to enhance and further our goals and objectives within local governments. For the last couple of weeks, we took some breaks from chatGPT specifically and looked at other AI tools like Claude vs scope perplexity. However, chatGPT has recently released a wonderful new feature that I want to show you and demonstrate how it can be used in ways you may not have thought of before.

Imagine that we’re a community events coordinator for the city of Chattanooga. We want to plan a festival at or near Ross’s Landing, and we need help identifying the locations for the band stage, carnival parking, first responders, and other necessary areas. By using chatGPT’s image analysis feature, we can upload a screenshot of the Google Maps image of downtown Chattanooga and receive valuable insights.

Based on the screenshot, chatGPT suggests that the band stage could be at Ross’s Landing, the open space adjacent to Ross’s Landing could be used for parking, and the space near Pier 2 at the Landing looks easily accessible and can be used as a makeshift emergency response station. It also identifies areas for food and beverage, restrooms, and sanitation.

Furthermore, if we have concerns about security, we can ask chatGPT to recommend road closures for the event. It suggests closing Riverfront Parkway between West Aquarium Way and the bridge, Chestnut Street between First and Aquarium Way, and extending the perimeter for activities along Aquarium Way between Riverfront and Walnut Street.

To manage traffic, chatGPT provides a traffic management plan, including ingress routes for attendees coming from the north and west, and suggests potential areas for parking, such as Bright Base Pay to Park, the parking lot on the east of AT&T field, and the parking lot south of Pucket restaurant. It also recommends negotiating temporary use or rental of parking spaces in nearby buildings and suggests using vacant lots or open areas for temporary parking.

This new feature of chatGPT is a powerful tool for event planning and traffic management. It allows event coordinators to easily analyze images and receive valuable insights for organizing festivals and other community events. Whether it’s identifying suitable locations, planning road closures, or managing parking, chatGPT’s image analysis feature provides valuable assistance.

In conclusion, the use of AI and generative AI tools like chatGPT can greatly enhance the effectiveness and efficiency of local government objectives. By leveraging the power of AI, event coordinators and government officials can make more informed decisions and streamline their planning processes. The ability to analyze images and receive valuable insights opens up new possibilities for event planning, traffic management, and other areas of local government operations.
