Transforming Google Sheets to Web Server using Google Apps Script

Transforming Google Sheets to Web Server using Google Apps Script

Hello and welcome back to Robo Hope. I hope you are doing well and staying safe. In this video, we will be discussing how to transform our everyday Google Sheet into a web server using Google Apps Script. To make the project more interesting, we will be using ChatGPT to generate the code for us.

To start with, we will need the following components: an ESP32 board, a DHT22 temperature and humidity sensor, a pair of breadboards, an OLED display, jumper wires, and a USB cable for power.

The first step is to create a new sheet using the sheet.new command. Then, we need to open the Apps Script tab and create our own JavaScript code. Once the code is ready, we can deploy it and generate the API.

Next, we need to write the ESP32 code to get the temperature and humidity data from the DHT22 sensor. We will then use the API to store the data into the newly created sheet.

Now, let’s talk about using ChatGPT to generate the code for us. We will go to chat.openai.com and select ChatGPT 4. We will give it custom prompts to generate the code for us. We will then copy the Arduino code from ChatGPT and paste it into the Arduino IDE. After uploading the code to the ESP32 board, we can see the data being printed in the serial monitor window.

If everything is working correctly, the data should also be sent to the Google Sheet using the API. In the end, we have successfully transformed our Google Sheet into a web server.

Thank you for watching. This is Devashi signing off. Tata, bye bye!
