Hello, I haven’t created a video like this before, or at least not for my students anyway. Today, I want to show you how valuable Chachi BT is as an artificial intelligence engine for teachers. As a trades teacher, one of the challenges I face is finding worksheets that help students convert decimal interest to fractional inches, like on a tape measure. It’s not just about converting decimals to fractions over powers of 10, but also converting decimals to the nearest 32nd or 16th of an inch. Finding such worksheets is difficult, and creating them is time-consuming.
After searching for worksheets on the internet, I decided to give Chachi BT a try. Chachi BT is part of OpenAI, and you can access it at chat.openai.com. Creating an account is simple; you can link it to your Google account.
Let me walk you through the process of using Chachi BT. I started by asking Chachi BT to create questions with answers on converting decimals to fractional inches, specifically to the nearest 64th of an inch. To my surprise, Chachi BT understood the concept and provided the correct answer, but it wasn’t simplified.
I then requested Chachi BT to give the fractions in reduced form, and it did. For example, 0.25 inches to the nearest 64th is a quarter of an inch. Impressed by its capabilities, I decided to include questions for the 32nd and 16th of an inch as well.
Chachi BT presented the questions in multiple-choice format, which was unexpected. However, all the answers were in reduced form, and it included numbers to the nearest 16th and 32nd of an inch. While the questions didn’t involve any whole numbers of inches, Chachi BT revised them upon my request.
I asked Chachi BT to include examples with whole numbers of inches, and it delivered. For instance, it correctly converted 3.875 inches to three and seven-eighths of an inch. I also noticed that all the answers provided were exact, so I requested Chachi BT to create questions that involve rounding.
Overall, Chachi BT proved to be an invaluable resource for creating worksheets. You can simply cut and paste the generated content into a PDF or Word document to create any kind of worksheet you want. The future of teaching resources is here, and Chachi BT is leading the way. The only challenge now is figuring out how to effectively ask questions of Chachi BT.
