Taking tests can be a stressful time for students. Preparation for those exams and tests can be a challenging time as well. Study guides can help teachers ease their anxiety through the creation of study guides. This helps the student by helping them prepare and it also saves the teacher time by helping them build the foundation of the study guide. Of course, please always verify the validity of the information if working in complicated matters.
Let’s go to chatGPT for a couple of examples. So what we’ll do is we’ll have chatGPT create a 10-point study guide on chemical bonds. Now we will allow chatGPT to create the study guide for us and let’s just confirm if it will do the 10 responses. And it did. So what we’ll do at this point is we’ll just go back through and, of course, as a teacher, verify the information, make sure that it is correct.
Let’s just say maybe a couple of students may be having issues in a certain area and you want to kind of customize it for a particular student if you have the time. At that point, what we can do is we can expand upon that and just say, ‘Can you clarify further covalent bonding for the study guide?’ And then we will now just allow chatGPT to kind of do the study guide again, specifically for covalent bonding. And at that point, it can really kind of drive home the point on covalent bonding and help the student or students grasp the area a little bit more.
Now we’ll just complete one more example. Let’s just see if chatGPT can create a study guide from a famous leadership book. Now, if you haven’t read Stephen Covey’s ‘Seven Habits of Highly Effective People,’ I definitely would recommend that book for sure. And let’s just see if it is able to create the study guide from that perspective. Now, it did not create it in the 10-point format, but it did kind of highlight it from the different seven different habits that Covey calls out. From that perspective, of course, we can have it dig in a little bit more if there are certain areas that you want the students to kind of really dive deeper in from that perspective.
Whether you are preparing tests for math, history, or any other subject matter, chatGPT would be beneficial for you. But just definitely make sure to check and confirm the validity and make sure it aligns with the coursework that you have laid out. And of course, if you’re more specific, the better, and it’ll generate better responses. Thank you for joining us today. We hope that you have a good one and we look forward to seeing you soon.
