The Impact of Conversational AI on Job Market

The Impact of Conversational AI on Job Market

I often get asked whether conversational AI will take away jobs. My answer is no, and here’s why.

Let’s take the example of banks and ATMs. Before the technology of ATMs, people would have to go to a bank to withdraw money. This resulted in long lines and crowded banks. But with the introduction of ATMs, the process became automated and simple. Today, when you need to go to a bank for more complex tasks like changing your address or getting a loan, the experience is much better. There are no lines, and the bank staff can focus on solving your core problems.

The same analogy applies to conversational AI. Jobs will not disappear; instead, they will become more advanced. People will learn to perform more complex tasks, which will ultimately improve our lives. Conversational AI is a field that has been around for several decades, and we are now entering a golden age of AI. The next 10 to 20 years will see tremendous advancements in AI technology.

Just like when the internet and smartphones were introduced, we didn’t have to think about how to make the best use of them every day. Entrepreneurs and developers created apps and programs that made it easier for us to utilize these technologies. Similarly, AI developers today and in the future will create programs and companies that will make it easier for everyone to benefit from conversational AI.

I encourage aspiring entrepreneurs and software engineers to explore the possibilities of building AI apps and companies. The use cases for conversational AI are limitless, and there is immense potential for innovation and growth in this field.
