I would take the conversation to Mr. Norman who has joined us online. He is also from the tech industry. Mr. Oman, do you share Mr. Usman’s apprehension towards AI and what do you think it means for the students that we are training who are going to enter the tech industry? In 2016, the World Economic Forum said that two-thirds of the jobs in the developing world will be replaced by robots. What do you think about this? How should we train our students? What skills should they attain that AI does not have? Please say something about this.
Thank you, sir, and the rest of the team. This is a very important topic and it’s like a kind of a burning issue these days and a buzzword. There are different aspects to it, but let me go back in history. We have been coming out from the days of using Spectrum computer to Commodore to the latest technology. Every time there are pros and cons, so I mean, can you avoid it? The answer is no, you can’t avoid it. Because if you avoid it, you will lose. From the students’ perspective, there are lots of students who are entering into technology by using digital marketing and other sources, and they are working independently or both are different forums. So all you need to do is go back in history again. If you remember, Gary Kasparov was a chess champion. That was the first step towards AI. There are about seven-eight applications that are available for different aspects to check whether it is AI-based or not. But what matters the most is the research because of research analysis. As a student, because last night I was having a conversation with one of my friends who’s working for Washington, our defense department. The question is, what would be the future of that research paper? And that is where he got stuck. So one step ahead from our teachers’ point of view, from students’ point of view, open-source platforms. That’s where you will make money, that’s where you will get successful, that’s where you will be ahead of time. Technology, it’s all about innovation. So 34% of teachers are against him or I think 66% are in favor. 89% of students are in favor. At your fingertips, more information is available. The point that I’m trying to make here is that already there are tools that are available. Definitely, teachers will come to know, but above all, do we know our conscious? If we know our conscious and if we are striving for success, eventually, you will be exposed. So just try and use this. You name anything, all are using AI. But then again, in case of war, we can’t keep quiet about it. We have to just try because we have the brain and the talent. So we are fortunate in that area, but we are here to get the output from the skill set that we have. 15 minutes of your time you spend on the area that you want to excel in, I’m sure you will progress and there is no reason why. But in my opinion, research is when I discuss. So let’s see how it goes, but the sooner we get into it, the better it is for us as a nation because we can capitalize on it. Because if you join the bandwagon, then you are way ahead of time and if you are aware ahead of time, you will have innovative thoughts which can make you successful and above all, you can generate revenue for yourself and for your family and for your country. Thank you very much.
