How are you? I am good. How are you? I am great. So, friends, this is my friend Tanish who has recently graduated from IIT Indoth and is now working as a software engineer. First of all, congratulations! Can you tell me about your experience at IIT? Tanish: It was great. The first semester was in the college, but then COVID hit, so the next two years were at home. I spent the fourth year at college again. College was great, and we did a lot of interesting things. Now, let’s talk about today’s topic: Are human beings still better than machines? Tanish: In some cases, yes, and in some cases, no. It depends on the task. For example, for basic math calculations, machines are better. But human beings still have their unique skills and abilities. Me: That’s true. With the introduction of AI, there is a possibility that some jobs may be replaced by machines. Tanish: Yes, there might be a decrease in jobs, but I don’t think human beings will be jobless. There will still be a requirement for human skills, like building and managing AI. Me: That’s a good point. AI tools are meant to assist humans, not replace them entirely. Tanish: Exactly. It’s all about using technology mindfully and increasing productivity. Me: Do you think robots will have emotions and attack humans in the future? Tanish: It’s unlikely. While AI can do amazing things, there will always be risks and challenges. It’s up to us to use technology responsibly. Me: That’s true. Finally, what advice would you give to students pursuing engineering or any other field? Tanish: I would advise them to prepare for jobs but also explore new skills and consider starting their own ventures. Learning new things and exploring different fields will help them discover their interests and passions. Me: That’s great advice. Thank you for this conversation, Tanish.
