Hi everyone! Today, I’ll be showing you the upgraded version of The Evolution game. Previously, the game had three phases: choosing an attribute, fighting a creature, and evolving your species. You start as a bacteria and try to evolve into humans and beyond.
Now, we have integrated the game with the Dolly API to generate images based on the options. This eliminates the need for a web browser. Let’s take a look at how it works.
We start off with protozoa instead of bacteria to avoid potential censorship. Protozoa have attributes like fast reproduction. As you progress, you develop specialized structures to capture and consume other microorganisms in the pond.
Next, you choose a creature to fight. We chose amoeba, the easiest option. In the future, we could generate videos and ambient music based on the outcome of the fight.
Unfortunately, I got eaten up by the amoeba and became an amoeba myself. But no problem, I evolved into a parasitic worm. I developed the ability to feed on the internal or external surface of a host organism.
Now, I can choose to fight a giant water bug. After a fierce fight, I managed to electrocute the electric eel and became a borrowing beetle. I developed a thick exoskeleton for protection.
Finally, I evolved into a dragonfly with impressive hunting skills and the ability to catch prey in mid-air. The habitat shifted from aquatic to open fields and forests.
If you want to try the game yourself, you can use the notebook provided. Just follow the instructions and let me know how it goes!
Note: The game uses the OpenAI Dolly API, which has a cost associated with it. You can choose to play without generating images to save costs.
