Ever wonder what happens when you put an AI into an 18-year-old with rewind powers? Well, I did just that in the game Life is Strange to see what decisions it would make in stressful situations. In this article, I’ll give you a quick recap of the previous episodes and discuss the choices made by the AI.
In episode three, we had to meet Chloe outside of the school and do a little stealth mission. Despite my attempt to walk slowly and avoid detection, Chloe managed to scare me with her disappearance. We had to find her, and it was logical to conclude that Rachel, another character, was most likely dead. We were in it together, and Max, the protagonist, led the way.
In episode four, we faced various challenges, including altering someone’s grade and discovering that the principal was misusing funds. The AI had to make choices regarding these situations. While it was tempting to change Warren’s grade, we decided that altering someone’s grade without their knowledge or consent was dishonest and unfair. We valued Warren’s friendship and support without compromising his integrity or academic record.
We also had the option to take the money labeled as the handicapped fund, which was intended for a specific purpose. However, we chose to leave the money and explore alternative options to help Joel without compromising our principles. We discovered that the principal was involved in shady activities, and exposing him seemed like a form of retribution for his misconduct.
Throughout the game, the AI had to make tough decisions, and it was interesting to see how it navigated through the complex situations. Sometimes, the AI’s choices aligned with the majority, while other times, it was in the minority. For example, the AI chose not to kiss Chloe when dared, and it also showed kindness by saving a dog and siding with Chloe against David.
As we go into episode four, it’s exciting to see how the AI will continue to make decisions in this unpredictable game. Stay tuned for more updates and let us know which choices surprised you the most!
