The Background Plugin for Chargept

The Background Plugin for Chargept

The background plugin for Chargept was released just a couple of days back and we already have our first major updates that will make everyone’s life much easier. Now we support cascading tasks, which are tasks that must be run in a specific order for you to reach your goals.

Imagine this situation: you want to make a cake. It doesn’t help much if you get the eggs, put them in the oven, cook them, then take them out of the oven and try to mix with flour. You need to first mix the eggs with flour and then take this mixture to the oven.

Until yesterday in JGPT, if you had the background plugin enabled, you had to send various instructions in a specific order and wait for those to complete in order for you to build your app. Now that we support cascading tasks, you can just write one big prompt containing everything that you want to achieve, and that plugin will automatically figure out the correct order for executing those tasks and deliver the end product to you.

To illustrate that, let’s take a look at the Chai GPG. I have selected the GPT4 model and enabled the background plugin for ChatGPT. You can do that in your account settings by going to Better Features > Enable Plugins > Background Plugin for Chargept. In my Backdrap account, I have two apps: Backend Tests and Dots. We’re going to create a new app named Dots with just one prompt.

Back to ChatGPT, let’s ask June to create a new Backtrack app named Dots. This app must have a class named Dog and should be filled up with the top 10 most popular dogs in the United States. Also, put the average leaving time for each breed.

So if you just hit enter, it will pass in all these instructions to Backfrap and complete the task only when all of those criteria are met. Here we have the green box for the Background Plugin. You can always expand this to see the requests and responses from Backflap.

Now, let’s retrieve from this table the top three dogs that have the longest lifespan and render it like a product table. You can see now that Pluto, York’s character, and Beagle are the longest living dogs in our table.
