Setting Up a ChatGPT Account

Setting Up a ChatGPT Account

Hello and welcome to the AI for beginners student induction and orientation series video number three. In this video, we will be setting up a ChatGPT account.

Before we begin, it’s important to note that ChatGPT is not a source of truth or a search engine. It is biased and the information it provides may be programmed to be biased. The answers you get are not the result of its learning, and ChatGPT is not sentient, sapient, or conscious.

To access ChatGPT for the first time, go to chat.gpt.open.com and sign up. You can use an email address and password or federated identity with your Microsoft, Apple, or Google account. In this video, we will be using federated identity through Google.

Once you have signed up, you will be taken to the user interface. This is the non-paid version of ChatGPT. There is an option to upgrade to ChatGPT Plus, but we won’t be covering that in this video.

ChatGPT can answer questions, help you learn, write code, brainstorm, and more. However, it’s important to be cautious with sensitive information as chat history may be reviewed by OpenAI. It’s also worth noting that ChatGPT may provide inaccurate information and is not intended to give advice.

In the next video, we will explore more features of ChatGPT. If you have any questions, please leave them in the comments or on our social media channels. Thank you for watching and have a wonderful day!
