Psycho Clown Gauntlet: A Game Built with ChatGPT

Psycho Clown Gauntlet: A Game Built with ChatGPT

Hello, it’s Adam Turner again. I am going to do another video. This is the last video I’m going to do on this little project where I’m making a game. I have made quite a lot of changes since the last video. I started with a project that was originally built as a code academy exercise from a while ago. It was a simple Maze Game where you had to solve the maze and avoid obstacles to reach your hat. But I have transformed it into a psycho clown game using Phaser, a framework for making HTML5 games in the browser with JavaScript. Although I learned the basics of Phaser about a year ago, I haven’t used it since, so my skills are a bit rusty. In this video, I will show you how I used chatGPT to build something I didn’t know how to build. The game I created is called Psycho Clown Gauntlet. It has the same branding and imagery as the original Maze Game, but with a twist. The premise of the game revolves around a teenage girl who has a confused identity. On one hand, she wants to be a cheerleader, embodying hyper-feminine ideals and beauty standards. On the other hand, she wants to be a wrestler, embracing more masculine ideals. Fueled by the anger of not making the cheerleading team, she embarks on a journey to overcome a gauntlet of psycho clowns and claim the trophy she rightfully deserves.

The game is controlled using the keyboard. I have a demo set up where you have to navigate through the maze, avoid the psycho clowns, and reach the end to win. It's a simple game, but it showcases how chatGPT can be used to turn code into a playable game. I believe that using chatGPT or similar technologies could be the future of software development. As the intelligence of these systems improves, they could generate perfect code for specific requirements, eliminating the need for developers to learn all the nitty-gritty details of implementation. Instead, developers would focus on understanding the overall structure and components required to achieve the desired outcome. In conclusion, Psycho Clown Gauntlet is an example of how chatGPT can be used to create games. It combines my basic knowledge of Phaser with the power of chatGPT to bring the game to life. I see a future where software engineers have a hybrid skill set, combining software engineering expertise with communication and prompting skills. This could revolutionize the way we develop software. I hope you enjoyed this video. I will post the link to the game so you can try it out. Thank you for watching!
