What’s up and welcome to the channel! If you’re like me and you have an interest in AI, or maybe you’re new to the space and looking to try out a new AI program, then this channel is for you. I’ve been a power user of ChatGPT for the past several months, but recently decided to give Claude Pro a try after hearing about its release a few days ago. I played around with the free trial quite a bit and was excited to hear about the announcement of the Pro Plan. In this video, I’m going to help you decide if it’s worth switching from ChatGPT Plus or if you’re new to generative AI programs, if Claude Pro is worth starting with.
Before diving into the pros and cons, let’s first understand what Claude is. Claude is a generative AI program, similar to ChatGPT, but it’s not based on the OpenAI model. Instead, it uses Anthropics’ Claude 2 LLM, which compares closely to the GPT-4 model. One major difference between Claude and ChatGPT is the number of tokens they can process in a given session. While ChatGPT allows for around 8,192 tokens or about 6,000 words, Claude allows for 100,000 tokens, which is a 10x increase or about 75,000 words. This means that Claude can handle larger data sets and is especially useful if you need to ask questions about a large document or book.
Anthropic, the company behind Claude, also prides itself on taking an ethical approach to its generative AI program and has implemented safety measures to protect against bias.
Now let’s dive into the pros and cons of using Claude Pro. One major advantage is that Claude Pro allows for five times more usage compared to the free version. This is especially beneficial if you need to handle a greater amount of information or ask questions to a document that the model may not be trained on. Additionally, with the Pro Plan, you also have priority access and priority to new features once they become available.
However, there are some cons to consider. The price tag of $20 for the Pro Plan may be a hard sell for some users, especially if they don’t require the specific advantage of an increased token limit. Another con is the lack of plugin support, which is a great selling point for ChatGPT Plus. Additionally, Claude Pro is currently only available to users in the US and UK, while ChatGPT has support for 140 countries.
In conclusion, whether or not Claude Pro is worth it depends on your specific needs and use case. If you require handling large data sets or prefer the Claude 2 LLM model over GPT-4, then Claude Pro is definitely worth considering. However, if you don’t need the increased token limit or plugin support, and you’re in a country where Claude Pro is not supported, then ChatGPT Plus may be a better option for you.
I hope you found this comparison helpful. If you have any experience using Claude or any thoughts on the topic, please let me know in the comments. Thank you for watching and enjoy your AI journey!
