Today, I am excited to introduce you to a new feature that is going to be a game changer for small business owners and solopreneurs like you and me. It’s the integration of ChatGPT and Canva. For those who are not familiar, Canva has been widely used as a design tool by millions of small business owners and solo printers. However, with this new integration, it takes it to the next level. You can now literally type out your design.

Let’s jump right in and see how we can do this. First of all, this integration requires ChatGPT Plus, which is a premium version that allows plugin access. It costs around $20 USD, or about $27 CAD. If you are still using the free version of ChatGPT, you will need to upgrade to use this feature. The good news is that both Canva and the Canva plugin are absolutely free.

To enable the plugin, click on the settings icon at the bottom of the window, then go to the Beta tab and make sure the plugins are enabled. This will make the plugin option visible at the top of your new chat. Open a new window and go to GPT4, scroll down, and click on plugins. Install the Canva plugin from the plugin store.

Once the plugin is installed, you can now integrate Canva into your ChatGPT Plus account. If you want to create a social media post, for example, simply type something like ‘design an Instagram post for my Halloween sale’. ChatGPT will trigger the Canva plugin, and you will have multiple design options to choose from. Customize your design, preview it, and then download it for posting.

The Canva plugin is not limited to just social media posts. You can create logos, video templates, reels, and more. Simply instruct ChatGPT, and it will design it for you. The templates provided are pretty awesome and can serve as a great starting point.
