Welcome everybody! Today, I’d like to give you a little preview and demonstration of how I am currently integrating artificial intelligence into my online courses. This technology has been immensely helpful in responding to students’ reflection assignments and providing them with valuable insights.
I am using a platform called Immersed, which allows me to create a visualizer room where the music comes alive and enhances the learning experience. It provides a great environment for students to immerse themselves in the course material.
In my online classes, I teach using Immersed, which brings up a Zoom room and projects my avatar for students to see. This creates a fun and engaging environment for both me and the students. I also have multiple screens that I can use to share my screen directly with students.
One of the main challenges I face is the large number of reflection assignments that I need to respond to. To expedite this process, I have enlisted the help of ChatGPT, an AI-powered chatbot. I have prepared a chat session with specific instructions for ChatGPT to help me reply to students’ reflections.
However, I do not rely solely on ChatGPT. I curate the content it generates and modify it as necessary to ensure it aligns with my intended responses. This is especially important in the field of instructional design and learning technologies, where students may reflect from different perspectives.
Using ChatGPT has significantly improved my workflow and allows me to provide higher quality responses to students. It also helps me maintain a better work-life balance, as I can get more done in less time.
In addition to responding to students’ reflections, I also plan to use ChatGPT to help me design and modify my courses. This technology will assist me in making corrections, modifications, and additions to the courses I am currently teaching.
