Because research basically starts with a synopsis. And this is the most important work that we have to decide in the initial phase. And on the basis of which your research is based. So, we can use the high-end technology that is being used nowadays, that is chatGPT, which is an AI-based LLM model, to make our work very easy. Which will make this work very efficient and professional. So, let’s learn how to do this in this video. But before that, I want to summarize which topics we will cover. How to do an overview of literature? What will be its top citations? What will be the research gaps and challenges in the study? And how to make objectives on the basis of that? So, without any further delay, let’s start the video.
First of all, we will search for ChatGPT in Google. The first link will come to us. So, we will either log in or sign up. So, I will click on login. Because I already have an account in this. There are three options. Continue with Google, continue with Microsoft account or continue with Apple. So, I will continue with Google account. I will choose my account and it will be logged in. So, here we have to click on new chat. So, see this interface, chatGPT has been opened. We are using the free version, which is GPT 3.5. So, this is the query box where we have to write our query. We will type whatever we want here. So, based on that, we will type in our queries. Please help me with literature review on AI for transportation and urban planning. Let’s suppose our supervisor has given us this topic, research topic. But we don’t know how to start it. So, we will write the name of that topic and continue. Please provide an overview of literature in… Or we can write here, current state of the art Literature in this area. See, it has started giving the answers. It has started to provide us the current state of the art literature on this topic. Number wise, we can see that it has given us 6 points till now. So, these are the 9 points on which we will be able to understand the existing overview. What has been done on this topic. Smart cities, environmental impact, challenges and ethical considerations, interdisciplinary collaborations, future directions. So, whatever your research topic will be, you can pass it through this query and take an overview of the literature. The database of ChatGPT is updated till September 2021. But we can take an overview of what has been done on this topic. Based on this, we can continue our research.
Now, we will pass the next query. Please provide top 10 citations in the field of AI for transportation and urban planning. So, it will tell us about the top most authors or journals. So that we can study them and continue our research. Or we can ease out research. So, see, it has told us many author names and journal names and conferences. So, we can study them. So, these are the author names and these are the journal and conferences names. So, this will give us an idea of what we can study in these papers. So, the next query is more beneficial than the previous one.
Now, we need a list of top cited papers in this particular area. For that, we will pass the list word on prompt. So, now it will give us a list of all the papers that have worked on this. See, the list is being generated. So, this is the list of papers. It also tells us that it doesn’t have access to all the research databases. But still, it is telling us about the top cited papers by searching or processing them. You can go through these papers and you can mention them in your synopsis. Apart from that, you need to learn from the latest study also. From respective databases like IEEE Explore, ACM Digital Library, Science Direct, etc. But still, it will help you a lot to know which people have worked on which topic in this area.
And now, the next query which is very, very important. We will pass the research challenges and research gaps that are most difficult to find out. Because first, we need to make a base for literature and all. And on that base, it will provide us with research gaps and challenges. So, now I will pass this query. Please provide potential challenges and gaps based on the current research on. And then we will name our research topic. See, now it has provided us with many challenges and gaps. You can choose and include whatever you think is suitable among these and include it in your research. It is not important that we have to include all of them. We can pick those challenges and gaps and include in our research synopsis. The first one is data quality and quantity. It has provided the challenge and after that, it has provided the gap as well. Whatever your research topic is, please study it and you can include it based on that. Based on the appropriateness. Dealing with data scarcity in certain researches, it is needed. So, there are various topics and challenges based on which you can pursue your research.
Now, on that base, we will find out our objectives. Based on the above research challenges and gaps, please provide 4 to 5 research objectives. So, now it will provide us with the objectives on which topic we can pursue our research. See, it has given us the rationale and methods. By using which method we can pursue this work.
