How to Use Zapier to Summarize Articles and Tutorials

Wouldn’t it be great if you could have your own AI Zapier coach directly inside your email, summarizing all the official tutorials from Zapier’s website? Well, in this video, I’m going to show you exactly how you can do that in under 10 minutes, and you’re also going to be able to do that for pretty much any website.

The first thing you want to do is create a new Zap. We are going to start with our trigger, which is the RSS by Zapier app. This app gives you the summary for all the posts on any website, including articles, tutorials, or news feeds. Choose the event ‘Triggers on a new RSS feed item’. Set up the required field, which is the feed URL. For Zapier’s page, the feed URL is ‘zapier.com/blog/feeds/latest’. If you want to use another website, you can find the RSS page for that website by following the instructions in the article linked below.

Next, we need to set up the action, which is the OpenAI GPT-3.5 Turbo app. Choose the event ‘Conversation’ and send the prompt to GPT-3.5 Turbo. In the prompt, you can use the context parameter to make the output more consistent. For example, you can set the context as ‘You are a Zapier online coach’. Then, write the prompt to summarize the article using the content from the RSS feed item’s description.

After that, we need to create a subject line for the summary. Use the same GPT-3.5 Turbo app, but choose the event ‘Reply’. Set up the memory key to keep the output consistent. Write the prompt to generate the subject line using the content from the GPT-3.5 Turbo app’s reply.

Finally, we want to send all this information to our email address. Use the Email by Zapier app and choose the event ‘Outbound Email’. Specify your email address as the recipient, use the subject line generated by the GPT-3.5 Turbo app, and the summary generated by the GPT-3.5 Turbo app as the body of the email. You can also customize the name of the email to easily identify it in your inbox.

Test each step to make sure everything is working correctly. Once you’re satisfied, name your Zap and publish it. Now, you have your own AI Zapier coach that will summarize articles and tutorials from Zapier’s blog and send them to your email. Enjoy the convenience of having all the information you need in one place!
