How to Use Chat GBT to Generate Exam Questions

In this tutorial, let’s learn how to use Chat GBT to generate exam questions or review questions and arrange them in a formatted file that can be easily uploaded through Blackboard.

First of all, you need to have a Chat GBT Plus account. If you haven’t upgraded yet, there are no plugins available for you. To upgrade, go to the settings of your account, select Beta Features, and activate plugins.

Once you have upgraded, you will see the available plugins. There are dozens of plugins available in the store provided by third parties. One useful plugin for this purpose is AIpdf. You also need to jump to AIpdf platform, which allows you to upload PDF files up to 2 gigabytes for free. Activate AIpdf plugin and then give Chat GBT the following prompts:

  • Direct Chat GBT to consider the uploaded PDF lecture notes to generate exam questions.
  • Provide as much detail as you want, including the type of questions (multiple choice, true/false, matching, etc.).

Blackboard can provide up to 10 question types, so make sure to specify the desired types. If you need more than 10 question types, you can specify that as well.

After providing the necessary links to AI Drive, which is where you upload the lecture notes, Chat GBT will start generating the questions based on the provided prompts and details.

Once the questions are generated, you can ask Chat GBT to arrange them based on the guidelines provided by Blackboard. These guidelines include the format of the file and how to arrange the questions in a certain format that can be easily read by Blackboard.

Copy the guidelines from the Blackboard website and submit them to Chat GBT. It will generate a text file in the given format.

Save the generated text file in a text editor, such as Notepad, and then jump to Blackboard to create a new exam. Upload the questions, specify the marks for each question, and submit.

This process can be repeated for each unit as a review tool. It’s not necessary to grade these review questions, but they can be used to assess students’ understanding at the end of each unit.

By following these steps, you can use Chat GBT to generate exam questions or review questions and easily upload them to Blackboard for assessment.
