Aloha everyone! Today, I will show you how to register for an Open AI ChatGPT account and enter several prompts into ChatGPT to get a feeling of how it works if you have never used it before.
To begin, I will paste the link provided in the email, which will lead you straight to the login page. If you have never logged in before, you can sign up using your hawaii.edu account. You will need to provide your birthday and phone number.
Once you have registered, you will have a free account with ChatGPT. However, there is also a paid version called ChatGPT Plus, which we will discuss in the synchronous session in August.
It is important to note that the prompts you enter in ChatGPT will be stored in a database by Open AI. They will use this data to improve ChatGPT over time.
After logging in, you will be taken to the home page, which provides information about ChatGPT, examples of what you can input, and its limitations.
To start using ChatGPT, simply type a message at the bottom. It is recommended to make your prompts specific, so that ChatGPT can provide a relevant response. For example, you can ask for a recipe for a Hawaiian dessert written in Pigeon English to experience its unique writing style.
You can also continue off of the initial prompt and ask questions or request modifications as you go along. If you want a different response, you have the option to regenerate it.
To make the most of your experience, try different prompts and challenge yourself. ChatGPT can provide in-depth answers, but you can also specify the number of words you want in the response.
Remember to register for an Open AI account through your hawaii.edu Google account and try out three different prompts. Be specific in your prompts and keep track of your experiences, as we may discuss them in the synchronous session.
Thank you for listening!
