How to Plan Your Content for the Next 6 or 12 Months

Tired of the content hamster wheel? Always feeling like you’re on the spot to come up with new ideas and burnt out? In this video, I’ll show you exactly how to plan out your next 6 or 12 months of content in 1 hour, including your keyword research. If you’ve been creating 30-day editorial calendars and planning out post by post, let’s put an immediate end to that. You never have to create another content calendar ever again. And if you’re wondering, ‘Can’t ChatGPT do this for me?’ Well, yes, but you have to have the right info to give it first. I’ll show you the steps to do that. Step one is to conduct a simple brain dump to get your mind in the right spot. Put your phone in another room, turn off all notifications, and set a timer for yourself of about 15 to 20 minutes. The goal here is to put as much down as you can under each category. The first category is life pillars, where you think about your hobbies, values, important things in your life, pet peeves, funny stories, etc. The second category is client transformations, where you list everything clients get from working with you, beyond just the obvious results. The third category is frequently asked questions, where you list all the questions you get from people, including seemingly random questions and questions from people in your industry. The fourth category is limiting beliefs, where you think about the false beliefs, misunderstandings, or commonly held beliefs about your industry, your results, or your framework. The fifth category is people or publications your perfect client already follows, which includes podcasts, books, magazines, TV shows, courses, blogs, groups, and celebrities.

Step two is to organize the brain dump into buckets. Identify common themes or topics that you want to regularly cover in your content. For example, if you're a weight loss coach, your buckets could be fitness, nutrition, mindset, biohacking, and personal life. These buckets will become the basis of your keyword topics later on. You can use ChatGPT to help organize these topics into related buckets. Step three is to assess keywords for search volume and competition. Use tools like TubeBuddy or VidIQ to find keywords with little to medium competition and a decent amount of search volume. Ask ChatGPT to list 50 keywords and longtail keyword phrases that can be used for YouTube video topics and content ideas. Then, plug these keywords into a tool to analyze search volume and competition. Highlight and add the low hanging fruit keywords to a list of verified topics. By following these steps, you'll have a thorough brain dump, a list of buckets for organizing your content, and a list of verified keyword topics for your YouTube videos. This will provide you with enough content ideas for the next 6 or 12 months, allowing you to create a consistent content strategy and leverage the power of YouTube and search engine optimization. Stay tuned for the next video, where I'll show you how to create compelling content around each topic and pre-sell your clients before asking for the sale.
