Hello everyone, welcome to my channel. Today, I’m going to talk about a function that is used very often in Excel - how to highlight rows where you have duplicate values.
If you have worked with Excel, you might have come across situations where you need to clean up a massive employee spreadsheet. It can be quite messy, especially when you have duplicate employee records. In such cases, you need to remove the duplicates.
In Excel, you can achieve this by selecting the employee ID column and using conditional formatting to highlight the duplicated values. If a value is highlighted, it means it is a duplicate; otherwise, it is unique.
Now, let’s see how we can achieve the same result using ChatGPT. First, open the ChatGPT interface and paste your request to create a web vehicle that highlights rows where the value is duplicated in a specific column.
Next, copy the generated code and go back to Excel. Open the developer tab and view the code. Paste the code in the code window.
Before running the code, let’s review what it does. The code starts by naming the sheet and clearing previous formatting (optional). Then, it sets the range and changes the interior color to yellow. You can customize the color if needed.
Now, run the code. You will see that the duplicate rows are highlighted in yellow. If you delete a row, you need to run the code again to update the formatting.
In conclusion, using VBA coding in Excel or ChatGPT can help you efficiently highlight and remove duplicate rows in a spreadsheet. It saves time and improves productivity.
