Let’s get into the tutorial. If you look up quizzes in English on YouTube, you’ll find basic videos like this one getting millions of views. These videos just have fill in the gap English grammar questions with multiple choice answers.
First, head to ChatGPT and use the specific prompt I have left in the description below this video. The prompt I gave to ChatGPT was to pretend to be an English teacher and create 15 questions in a table format with three choices. I specify the topic and format of these questions and asked for the correct answers below the table.
Now, over to Canva and create a new YouTube video design. First off, add the background by looking for a spiral background in the elements section. Then switch to videos and choose a green one for today.
The video is 30 seconds, but I want it to be 15 seconds, so I’ll trim it down. Then, add text by pressing ’t’ on my keyboard. Head back to ChatGPT to get one of the longer questions and paste it in. Feel free to use whatever font you like, but I prefer something sleek, so I’ll search for ‘gordita’ in the fonts and make it bold. I’ll adjust the size to 65 and center it, ensuring every other question sits in the middle too.
Next, add the timer from the elements and place it in the bottom left corner. Now, copy the text with control plus ’d’ and then hop over to ChatGPT to grab an answer to paste into the box. Now, let’s slide this lower and create a rectangle with an ‘r’ on it. This rectangle will be the backdrop for our answer. Let’s switch the rectangle to white and the text to black. I want the text a little bigger, so let’s increase the font size and center it in the box. To make the box’s corners rounded, just move the slider up top to about 15.
Since we have three answer choices, I’ll copy this box and text twice, holding the ALT key, arranging them in a triangle. Now, let’s ensure everything lines up nicely. Head back to ChatGPT, get the right answers, and paste them. I’ll make a copy of one rectangle, shift it to the side, and change its color to blue. This blue box will show our correct answer later. It should be layered between the boxes and their texts. Now, for some fine-tuning, right-click the question and hit ‘show timing’. Use the timeline at the bottom to get a clear view. Move the playhead to 0.5 seconds, that’s when our question should pop up, and adjust the start to this point. Group the first box with its answer, move the playhead to one second, and adjust. Do the same for the next answer at 1.5 seconds and the third at two seconds. Begin the timer at 2.5 seconds by shifting it forward. Move to the timer’s end at 8.5 seconds and adjust the blue box to start there at 8.5 seconds.
I want everything to smoothly appear, so let’s apply a fade-in animation. The blue box will have a pop-up animation. Let’s wrap with some sound. In the elements section, search for ‘cork’ and go to audio. For each answer, drag the playhead to its start and drop in the cork sound. For the timer sound, move to its beginning, search ’egg timer’, and pick the top choice. It’s a bit long, so let’s cut it down to fit the timer length. For the answer reveal, search for ’logo ascend’ and go with the first one.
To make sure the sound effects are always in place when creating in bulk, later select all elements and remove them. Next, use the share button up top to save the video as an mp4. Now, hit Ctrl+Z to undo the deletion. Afterward, upload your downloaded video and remove sound effects from the timeline one by one. Drag this uploaded video to replace the background so that the audio shows up when you add multiple scenes.
For the bulk create feature, go to the app section, choose to enter data manually, erase the table here, then head to ChatGPT to copy the table and paste it in the first box on Canva. Hit done. Link the data by right-clicking elements and selecting ‘connect data’. For the choices, match them to A for left, B for right, and C for bottom. Hit continue and use the button to generate 15 pages.
For the voiceover, I’ll have ChatGPT provide the questions with correct answers. We’ll use 11 Labs to generate human-sounding voiceovers. Copy-paste the text from ChatGPT into 11 Labs, making sure to add the five 10 periods at the end of each sentence. I’m picking the voice Freya. Good at math, he lives on the street. Sounds great. Download your creation as an MP3 and upload it back to Canva. The audio should play after the answer shows. Adjust the timing and split each answer by pressing the ‘S’ key on your keyboard or right-clicking to split after the blue square pops up. Add your voiceover.
I’ve done all that and matched the audio with answers, and it sounds like this: ‘We will meet at five o’clock. Thank you. He lives on the street.’
That’s what the finished product looks like. Right now on ChatGPT, you can share a chat link. And as a thank you for staying until the end, I’ll give you a link to the prompts in the description. This way, you can bring them into your own chat and use those prompts again.
