The awesome news is that with ChatGPT, research becomes easier and more efficient than ever before. So let’s get started with a practical research example.
My goal is to learn more about the world and everything in it. For this, I want to find a new book that everybody should have read. To do this, I will ask ChatGPT the following prompt: ‘What are the top five books everybody should have read?’ ChatGPT comes up with five books, stating that it’s difficult to pick just five books, but we got five books to get started with. However, to be more specific, let’s say we are interested in books related to business or personal development, and we only want the titles. Now we have five books that we will read.
Next, let’s dive deeper into one of the books. For example, ‘The Seven Habits of Highly Effective People’ sounds interesting. I want to know the page count and the year it was initially published. With a more specific prompt, we finally have the result we were looking for.
Research is not limited to books. No matter if you are planning your next trip, want to improve in sports, or learn how to dance, you can always use ChatGPT for efficient research results.
Summarizing information is another topic in our daily lives. Sometimes, we only need to know the core information of a specific text. With ChatGPT, we can now summarize text within seconds. Just provide the text to ChatGPT and say ‘Summarize this text for me.’ You can also specify the format or style of the summary.
In a globalized world, we might receive information, text, articles, or emails in different languages. ChatGPT can be a great helper in such cases. Just provide the text and ask ChatGPT to translate it for you. You can also specify the format or style of the translation.
Proofreading and enhancing text is another task where ChatGPT can help. Whether it’s checking for grammar or spelling mistakes or improving the text to sound more native, ChatGPT can do it within seconds. Just provide the text and ask ChatGPT to proofread or enhance it.
Writing utility tools or scripts usually requires programming knowledge. However, with ChatGPT, even non-programmers can create utility scripts. Just provide the instructions and the goal, and ChatGPT will generate the script for you. You can automate tasks in your daily routine without knowing anything about programming.
