In this project, I will show you how to generate a complex Excel formula using ChatGPT. Let’s say we have salesman-wise sales data in Excel and we want to calculate sales commission for these salesmen. The commission calculation is complex because it involves four slabs based on the sales amount. The higher the sales, the higher the commission earned.
To generate the salesman-wise data, we can use ChatGPT to create a data table. The table will include names of salesmen and random sales numbers in INR ranging from INR 10,000 to INR 100,000. We can format the table in a way that allows us to easily copy and paste it into Excel.
Once we have the data table ready, we can add a column to show the sales commission. To calculate the commission, we can use ChatGPT to generate an Excel formula. The formula will have multiple conditions based on the sales amount. For example, if the sales amount is less than INR 10,000, the commission will be zero. If the sales amount is between INR 10,001 and INR 20,000, the commission will be 5 percent, and so on.
We can copy and paste the generated formula into Excel and apply it to all the rows. This will calculate the commission for each salesman based on their sales numbers.
To make the formula even more complex, we can add a region for each salesman. We can use ChatGPT to check the region before calculating the commission. For example, if the region is not South and the sales amount is less than INR 10,000, the commission will be zero. If the region is East or West and the sales amount is less than INR 10,000, the commission will be zero, and so on.
As we can see, ChatGPT simplifies the process of generating complex Excel formulas. It allows us to create formulas with multiple conditions and calculations, making it easier to automate complex calculations in Excel.
