In today’s video, we will be exploring a plugin called Earth and its capabilities. I came across this plugin in the popular section of Chat GBT and I am curious to see what it can do.
To enable plugins, make sure you have Channel GBT Plus and enable it in your settings. Once that is done, you can start by asking what the capabilities of this plugin are. From my understanding, it grabs data from the Google Maps API and pushes it forward into the chat.
One of the main features of this plugin is the ability to generate a map from coordinates or get coordinates from a location. For example, you can generate a map of the Grand Canyon or get the coordinates of Tokyo. The plugin provides a screenshot image of the map and also allows you to view it on Google Maps.
You can also ask for specific coordinates of a location with different bearing and pitch values. This allows you to get a more detailed view of the location. Additionally, you can adjust the zoom level and choose from different map styles such as satellite, street, outdoor, and more.
I tested the plugin with various locations and parameters. It successfully generated maps and provided different styles based on the inputs. However, I personally find it hard to see the details of certain locations when zoomed out.
Overall, the Earth plugin is a useful tool for visualizing locations and exploring maps. It leverages the Google Maps API to provide accurate and detailed maps. While it may not have a specific use case for everyone, it can be enjoyable to explore different locations and map styles.
