As a student, having easy-to-use resources can help in the process of learning new material. Today, I want to cover how we can utilize ChatGPT and pair it with another AI application to learn different subjects.
The specific tool we will be showing is an example of Socratic AI. Socratic was built to support science, math, literature, social studies, and more. It provides you with visual explanations of important concepts in each subject and is powered by Google AI, which is a great source of information to use. As you can see, it works across a variety of different subjects and has nine highlighted here. It is also built for learning and uses information from teachers to give you visual explanations.
To use this application, you would need to download it as an application from either the Apple Store or the Google Play Store. I will show you how it looks on my phone and how we can utilize ChatGPT together from that perspective. But Socratic itself can be utilized to be productive and continue to learn. I’ll show you those features.
Before we go to Socratic in the mobile app, I will have ChatGPT create a math problem, and I will show you how we will utilize this math problem later. So, ChatGPT, can you create an algebra problem?
Alright, perfect. We will now go to Socratic, and I’ll show you how it works. Alrighty, we’re now at the Socratic app on my home screen. I’ve downloaded it, so go to your respective App Store. I’ve already created an account, so it recognizes me. We’ll go to the menu and show you how you can get an example from ChatGPT here. Now, it’s showing you to take a picture of the problem, crop it, and then submit it to Socratic. So, now we’ll get ready to take the question from ChatGPT.
I’ll take a picture of it, crop it, and as I’m cropping it, I need to make sure it’s aligned correctly to input it into Socratic. Then, I’ll take the picture, and it’ll match the problem. At that time, it’ll also show us how we can solve the problem step by step. It shows you how you can utilize it, and it’s definitely a great way to have ChatGPT create problems while you get to see how it works, and you can try examples.
Now, I’m going to go over to the type of question feature. From here, you can actually type in a question, and it’ll allow that as well. Now, I’ll do 3x minus seven equals 10, and then I’ll search it. It’ll show us how to solve the problem as well. It’s a great way to utilize ChatGPT to give you different problems to solve, and then you can work on finding ways of how it is solved.
