What’s up guys, my name is Mark. Lately, I’ve been using chatGPT for my product research when I look for new products to sell on Amazon. Honestly, every time I use it, I try out some new things. This is probably the best way that I’ve used it so far, and I’m going to share it with you. I just found about three or four pretty amazing products using it, and if you watch this whole video, I’ll show you step by step exactly how to do that.
First, let me tell you about chatGPT. It’s a remarkable software that I’ve been using. You can use the free version, but I recommend using the paid version while it’s still new and not widely used. Most sellers haven’t discovered this method yet, so it’s a great opportunity for you to get ahead.
To start, I asked chatGPT about all the product categories on Amazon.com. There are so many of them, and we want to treat this like a marketing funnel. We want to start broad and slowly get more detailed and specific. I got a list of categories, and I picked four that stood out to me: home and kitchen, toys and games, health and beauty, and electronic accessories.
Next, I asked chatGPT to categorize these four categories from top to bottom based on the product return rate when shopping online. We want to focus on categories with a low return rate, as they indicate high-quality products. From the four categories, I picked pet supplies, office products, sports and outdoors, and baby products.
Then, I asked chatGPT for the subcategories within these four categories. This gave me even more options to explore. For example, in pet supplies, there are subcategories like dogs, cats, fish, and more. I selected three subcategories from each category: dog collars, self-cleaning dog brushes, elevated dog beds, reflective dog harnesses, outdoor gear, and baby products.
Now that I had the subcategories, I asked chatGPT to recommend 20 private label products from these subcategories. It provided a list of products like dog bells, puzzle feeder silicone slow feeders, and customized dog tags. These products have potential for private labeling and selling on Amazon.
To validate these product ideas, I used Helium 10, a product research software. I filtered the products based on sales and reviews and found some promising options. For example, a two-pack of dog bells had high sales and low competition. Another product, a puzzle feeder silicone slow feeder, had good revenue and only two reviews.
By using chatGPT and Helium 10, you can discover profitable product categories and find specific products to sell on Amazon. It’s important to do thorough research and validate your ideas before launching a product. Remember, organic sales are more valuable than relying on ads. So take advantage of these tools and start your journey as an Amazon seller.
