Today, we are going to explore stocks in Tableau. We want to answer the question of how these companies are performing in the public market. A stock price is the share price of a percentage of a company. It is loosely related to the value of a share and represents your share of ownership. We will use Google Sheets and Yahoo Finance to pull the stock data for Tesla, Rivian, and Ford. In Google Sheets, we will write formulas to pull the past three years of stock data for these companies. In Yahoo Finance, we will search for the ticker symbols and download the historical data as CSV files. We will then import these files into Tableau to visualize the stock performance.

In Tableau, we will create line charts to show the closing prices of the stocks over time. We will also include the volume of shares traded to analyze the market activity. By examining the stock prices and volume, we can identify trends and patterns that may indicate the performance of the companies. For example, significant drops or increases in stock prices may be related to quarterly earnings, news events, or market conditions. By visualizing the data, we can gain insights into the business performance of these companies.

Join us as we dive into the world of analytics and explore the fascinating world of stocks. Let’s make sense of the numbers and uncover the stories behind the data.
