Creating Your Own GPT Assistant

Creating Your Own GPT Assistant

Hello everyone! Namaste! Myself, and today we are in the fourth session of the Stempedia Boot Camp. In session 4, we have learned about the introduction to GPT. GPT, which stands for Generative Pre-trained Transformer, is an advanced language model. It is specifically designed for interactive and dynamic conversational experiences. In today’s session, we had an activity to create our own GPT assistant using Victor Black as a platform and Python as the programming language.

To create our own GPT assistant, we first loaded all the GPT functions and extensions using the variable GPT. We also loaded the text-to-speech function using the variable TS. This function converts the written words into speech in English. We then took input from the user using the variable prompt. The user’s answer was stored in the variable prompt.

Next, we sent the questions asked by the user to the GPT extensions using the ask_on_chat_GPT function. The answer from the GPT assistant was stored in the variable answer. Finally, we used the TS.speak function to make the Sprite say the answer in words and display the result on the backdrop.

Before running the program, we saved the function and ran it. The Sprite asked the user what they would like to answer, and the user provided their response. The GPT assistant then answered the user’s question about photosynthesis, explaining that it is the process by which plants, algae, and some bacteria convert sunlight, carbon dioxide, and water into glucose and oxygen. This process is vital for the survival of most life forms on Earth.

In addition to creating a chatGPT assistant, we also learned about other functions available in PictoBlocks, such as converting text to emojis and getting grammar, anatomy, synonyms, and analogies of a text.

Overall, creating our own GPT assistant using PictoBlocks was a great learning experience. Thank you to Stempedia for providing this opportunity for teachers and thank you to everyone involved!
