Creating Children's Activity Books on Amazon KDP

Hi guys, welcome to my channel! Today, I have something very exciting to share with you all. We are going to dive into the wonderful world of children’s activity books and learn how to create our very own book using Canva and the power of chapter. Now, you might be wondering why we should focus on phonics books. Well, phonics books are incredibly popular because they play a crucial role in helping kids learn how to read and develop language skills in a fun and engaging way. So, let’s jump right in and start crafting an amazing activity book that’s both educational and enjoyable for kids.

The first step is to head over to Amazon KDP and choose a stream size for our book. I recommend going for a large trim size, such as 8.5 x 8.5 inches, as children’s books are usually big and square, making it easier for them to use. Additionally, Amazon recommends adding gutter length to your book, which is an extra 1.125 inches. This ensures that your content remains within the margins.

Next, we need to generate some fantastic poems on phonics. These poems will be the heart of our activity book, teaching kids about different letter sounds and their associated words. We can use Chat GBD to come up with creative and catchy rhymes that will make learning a blast. For example, we can ask Chat GBD to write a little rhyming poem for kids to help them learn phonics, specifically for the letter A. Once we have our engaging phonics poems, it’s time to bring them to life with colorful visuals.

We’re going to design alphabet coloring pages featuring each letter along with cute illustrations of objects that start with that letter. Canva has a wide range of illustrations that you can use for free. Just make sure to check the license for each illustration. After adding all the elements to your alphabets and the corresponding poems to your pages, you can move on to designing the cover of the book.

For the cover, we recommend using a width double the width of your project, such as 17 inches, and keeping the height the same. You can use Canva’s AI widget, Text to Image, to generate a cover design. Choose a style that suits your book, and customize it by adding titles and illustrations. Don’t forget to save the cover as a PDF print file.

Once you have all your pages and the cover ready, you can upload your book to Amazon KDP and publish it. If you prefer, you can also sell your book as standard-owned worksheets on Etsy by changing the dimensions to A4 and saving them as a PDF. The possibilities are endless!

In conclusion, creating children’s activity books is a rewarding and creative process. By following these steps and using tools like Canva and Chat GBD, you can design and publish your own educational and engaging books for kids. So, get creative, sell your books online, and inspire young minds with amazing content!
