Hey guys, Matt Daniel here. Today, I want to quickly go over a shiny app that I made earlier this week. I’ve been getting a ton of questions on how I made it with ChatGPT, so I thought I’d walk you through the process.
Building a shiny app like this can be quite complicated and time-consuming. Normally, it would take me three or four days to create something like this. However, with the help of ChatGPT, I was able to speed up the development process.
In this video, I’ll show you how to use ChatGPT to build a shiny app. I’ll guide you through the conversation I had with ChatGPT to create this app. My goal is to help you understand how to effectively use ChatGPT and avoid common mistakes.
The shiny app I created allows you to browse and upload a financial statement. It has different tabs for cash flow, income statements, and balance sheets. Once you upload the information, you can generate a financial forecast and visualize it using a trelliscope plot.
I’ll also share some of the challenges I faced while building this app and how I overcame them. One of the mistakes I made initially was trying to build the final solution right away. It’s important to start with a simpler version and gradually add features.
To demonstrate this, I’ll show you the progression of my shiny app from the initial version to the final solution. You’ll see how I used prompts to guide the conversation with ChatGPT and iteratively improve the app.
