Hello friends, my name is Shashank and welcome back to my Channel, Corporate Guy. Today, in this video, we are going to talk about how to use Excel and combine the power of ChatGPT to unleash new possibilities in automating your daily tasks.
In this video, we will be working with a simple Excel sheet called ‘Task Manager’. This sheet consists of columns like task name, task description, due date, status, priority, assigned to, and assigned to email ID. It is a simple task sheet where you can write down tasks and assign them to your teammates. You can also track the progress of tasks and team members.
The objective of this video is to combine the power of ChatGPT, VBA, and Excel to automate a very simple task that will help you save time and impress your teammates. We will be using VBA code generated by ChatGPT to open Outlook and send an email to the person assigned to a task. The email will be composed automatically, taking details from the task sheet.
Traditionally, writing VBA code required searching for code snippets online and combining them to achieve the desired functionality. However, with ChatGPT, the process becomes much simpler. You can give step-by-step instructions to ChatGPT, and it will generate the VBA code for you.
In this video, I have already given the instructions to ChatGPT to generate the VBA code. It will open Outlook with an email for the last added row in the sheet. The email will be sent to the person assigned to the task, taking the email ID from the ‘assigned to email’ column. If the email ID is not valid or missing, an error will be displayed. You can make changes to the email body as per your requirements.
Once you have the VBA code, you can simply paste it in the VBA editor in Excel. To make it even easier, you can assign the code to a button. I have demonstrated how to create a button and assign the VBA code to it. When you click the button, Outlook will open with the composed email, ready to be sent.
Using ChatGPT to generate VBA code makes the process of automating Excel tasks much simpler and more efficient. You can achieve complex automation tasks with just a few instructions to ChatGPT.
