In this video, I am going to show you exactly how we automatically generate social media posts for contracting businesses. While this could work for any type of business, contractors are usually who we work with, so I am going to focus more on that aspect for today.
Before we dive into that, one of the questions that might pop up is, why do we even bother posting on social media or why should we even bother automating that? Well, the reality is that captioning sucks. It’s time-consuming and it doesn’t really add that much value to your business. But you have to have someone to let people know that you’ve created something new, whether it’s a video or a piece of content. You cannot afford to simply ignore it, or people just won’t read it.
The first thing people do when they want to work with you is check your social media. They want to see if you are active and still in business. I see so many companies fall into the trap of just letting time go by without updating their socials. But in this day and age, it is imperative to have some sort of social media presence, even if it is an automated one.
So now that we understand the problem, how do we fix it? The solution is very simple. We can automate these sorts of things with the advances in AI and chatGPT. It’s easier than ever to automate your captioning and postings, to never even have to think about it. You’ll spend 30 seconds, maybe a day, not dealing with it.
Now, how do we actually go about implementing this? There are two options. The first one is if you don’t have a content generation system at all, you can actually create an entire video or blog using tools like Airtable. You can automate the creation of blogs and connect it to the system to automatically generate captions and post everything without ever looking at it.
For this specific example, I’m going to assume that you already have some sort of existing blogs or content that you just want to post about on social media without spending all day typing away on your computer or phone. If you do want to create that system, please refer to the video linked below.
Now, for this specific video, we’re going to focus on existing blogs. You can copy and paste the content from your existing database into a new one. Then, we can use AI and chatGPT to read the article and generate captions for Facebook, Instagram, and LinkedIn. Each platform has its own nuances, and it’s important to tailor the captions accordingly.
To implement this system, we use Airtable as our database. We create different columns for the title, content, article URL, and buttons to create captions and post to social media. We also use Make and Chai GPT to automate the caption generation process. We connect Airtable and Make using webhooks and modules, and set up the necessary formulas and settings.
Once everything is set up, you can test the system by entering the article URL and clicking on the create captions button. Make will generate the captions for each platform based on the content of the article. You can then review and approve the captions before posting them to social media.
