Hey everybody! In today’s video, I’m going to show you how you can use ChatGPT to help you analyze a company’s earnings report. For today’s example, I’m going to use Microsoft’s recently released Q4 numbers.
To get started, I’ll show you how to load the data into Excel using a screenshot. Then, we’ll use ChatGPT to generate a table showing the year-over-year percent changes and identify large expense items.
Once we have the data in Excel, we’ll set up ChatGPT with a prompt to analyze the earnings data. We’ll ask it to put the data into a table format and add columns for percent change from the previous period and percent of total revenue. We’ll also ask it to summarize the biggest expenses based on percent change, excluding amounts less than a thousand.
After pasting the data into ChatGPT, it will generate a table for us. We can copy and paste this table back into Excel. ChatGPT will also identify the biggest expenses based on percent change.
Overall, ChatGPT is a useful tool for analyzing company earnings. It saves time and provides accurate analysis. Combined with Excel’s ability to import data from a picture, it can expedite the analysis process.
