A Comprehensive Tutorial on Using Connect Genie

All right, so this is going to be an in-depth tutorial for connecting because a couple of people had asked me to create this tutorial so that they know how to use every aspect of connecting to make the best out of it. First of all, I’m going to start with the process of signing in. Previously, we signed in with Google, but we also have provided the option of signing in with the email. In this tutorial, we are going to sign in with the email address. If you do not already have an account with us, you can simply sign up. It’s simply first time, last time, email, and password. You will be able to sign in, but I already have this, so I’m going to simply use my email address and password to sign in. So, the logout button at the moment is only available in the web application. This is a single sign-on, basically when you sign in to our web app, you also get signed into our extension as well. If you want to log out, you can log out from here, and you will also get logged out from the extension. You can log in again. Okay, signed in. Now let’s go to the LinkedIn feed. I’m going to show you a couple of ways through which you can generate comments. Basically, let’s go to the first page on the LinkedIn feed. This post is about software engineering. Let’s see what comment can we generate here. There are default tones behind each tone. There is a prompt that gets submitted to our AI system, and the comment gets generated according to the instructions that are mentioned in that form. If all tones are that they come pre-packaged with LinkedIn with connection and custom tones. Custom tones are the tones that you can create yourself. So with the default tone, I can use informative and it will create a comment for you. It’s going to be about the software engineering that is quite similar to what exactly this post is talking about. Now let’s talk about adding a tone. We can add a tone like this by clicking on the ‘Add Tone’ button, and then this window model window will open. You can give a tone name, description, and tone prompt. The tone prompt is very important because this is what is going to tell our AI system the instruction of how you need to generate the comment. I’ve given this a placeholder in which you can see that a LinkedIn user responds to this following post text in the form of a comment in a professional manner. So actually, the AI experts say that it’s going to be important that you give the AI system initially a role and then give the instruction of what exactly you need to do. So we are giving here a role that we are a LinkedIn user who will respond to this post text in the form of a comment that will be a question. As you click on this, it gets saved automatically, and then you can also update it at runtime. If the changes will be updated on random. So now if we click on this tone, we will hopefully create a comment that will look like a question. See, this is the question now. So that’s how we can create a comment from within the news feed. Now let’s talk a little bit about the settings because these are very important. So we have settings for comments and we also have settings for connect mode. Let’s discuss the settings for comments right now. First, we have different tones like the one we created, the custom tone that we added. It is also over there. Whatever the prompt that we selected, that is the first part of the prompt. The prompt is very important. Then next, the other setting is word count. By selecting either of these word counts, you are actually telling the prompt that it should be either less than 25 words or 75 words. As you change these settings, they get saved, and the sample prompt gets updated at runtime. Then we have keywords to include and keywords to exclude. In the keywords, when you mention that keywords will prove you’re actually telling the AI system that you need to make sure that this keyword gets added in the comments. So whenever you want to add a keyword, you need to make sure that you add a comma at the end of it. Similarly, you can also tell our system not to use these words. Just like above, you also need to add a comma, and it will exclude these words from the comment. You can also add hashtags, and when you do that, your comment will also have hashtags. Now let’s show what kind of comment we get when we have selected these settings. Let’s select a casual tone. It is less than 25 words, and it has hashtags in it and the word ‘awesome’ as well. So that part covers the settings of comment generation. Now let’s move to showing you how we can create a comment another way. You can go to the LinkedIn pages where you go and see a post. It’s going to give you the ability to create comments. Let’s create this. Copy the link of this post, and then you can select a tone either from one of the default tones or one of the custom tones that you have created. Then you can paste the URL of that post, and it will create a comment. Now, let’s talk about how to send a connect request to someone. I’m going to select this person because it’s the second connection to me. I’m going to go to his profile. Basically, our AI system will analyze what exactly is there on this person’s profile, what it talks about, what is his name, what is his headline, what’s his About Me section, and what is his experience. All of these things, and if there are any mutual connections involved, it will craft a connect request accordingly. So we do tell our AI system to create a connect request that is less than 300 characters, but sometimes it exceeds that limit. In that case, we recommend that you always double-check the connect request that you are creating. Now you can copy this connect request and click on ‘Connect’ and add a note, and then simply send it. That’s how you can send a connect request. Now, let’s talk about the plans. We have different plans when you sign up for Connect Genie. It allocates a free plan to you, which gives you 50 connects on sign up and then 25 connects every month. Connects are the credits that you can use to create comments or connect notes. Each connect can be used to create one comment and one connect can be used to create one connect request. These connects expire every month if you’re not using them. We also have Basic and Premium plans. The Basic plan is $4.99 per month, and it gives you 250 connects. The Premium plan is $8.99 per month and gives you 550 connects. If at any point you run out of connects, you can upgrade your plan at any time. We also have some Tech Jam plans that you can use to use the extension for free. There is an Open AI plan where you can use the extension completely for free, but you need to get your Open AI key and paste it in the settings. We also have a ChatGPT Web plan, which allows you to use the chat responsibly. You need to sign in to ChatGPT Web to use this plan. That’s about it. If you have any questions, reach out to us. We’re looking forward to your sign-ups.
